  • Week of Prayer

Martin Luther wrote, “To be a Christian without prayer is no more possible than to be alive without breathing.”  Praying is the great privilege of Christian life.  And the blessing of praying individually is even more pronounced as we pray together.  Jesus promised, “Where two or three come together in My Name, there am I with them." On Saturday, January 10, we’ll gather to begin the new year with our third annual Day of Prayer.  During the past two years, we’ve ...

  • Christmas Eve Service & Choir

"But when the fullness of time had time, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons." (Galatians 4:4-5)   Christmas is as much an end as is it a beginning. It's a beginning in the sense that Christmas marks the moment God invaded our broken world to undo the curse of sin. However, it's also an end in the sense that Christmas represents the fulfillment of centuries of divine promises and ...

  • Thanksgiving Picnic

We're hosting our annual Thanksgiving potluck dinner immediately after the Sunday meeting on November 23. If you've only been visiting Kingsway for a few weeks, this is a great opportunity to meet people and enjoy the gift of community. There's no need to sign-up in advance.

  • 2014 Starting Point Class

Membership in a local church is not a rite of passage for the super-Christian. It's a biblical necessity for every Christian. Consider the words of the Apostle Paul to the church in Ephesus.  "Speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love." (Eph 4:15-...

  • Ladies Breakfast - Oct 4

Community is a gift of the gospel. Apart from Jesus, our relationships remained mired in bitterness, anger, jealously and slander. Through Jesus, we are reconciled to God and reconciled to one another, which frees us to enjoy community as it was meant to be - a place of safety, encouragement, and joy.

  • King'sKids Promotion Sunday

If your children participate in our King'sKids ministry, don't forget that Promotion Sunday is September 7th! Parents are welcome to move their children to an older or younger class throughout the year, but many parents opt to graduate their kids to the next age level every September so that friends can move up together regardless of their actual birthday. If you're unsure of which class your child should attend, simply check the rosters posted in the King'sKids hallway on Sunday morning....

  • Student Ministry Kick-off

Fall is just around the corner, which means we’re getting ready to kick-off another year of ministry for middle and high school students and their parents. Here's a quick overview of some exciting changes we're making in Impact (middle school) and Frontline (high school) for the 2014-2015 school year.  1) Combined Events Rich & Anna Rogness, who continue to lead Impact, worked with the Frontline team last year to pull off a few combined events for middle and high school students....

  • 2014 Men's Retreat

Christians have an unfortunate reputation for being squeamish about sex. We really shouldn’t be. After all, God created sex.

  • August Member's Meeting

Church membership matters at Kingsway because church membership matters to God. Consider these provoking words from Charles Spurgeon: I know there are some who say, “Well, I have given myself to the Lord, but I do not intend to give myself to any church.” Now, why not? “Because I can be a Christian without it.” Are you quite clear about that?

  • The Sacred Search

If you’re a Christian, your identity is not defined by your marital status. Your identity is found in Jesus. You have been united with him by faith and the most important thing about you is not whether you are married or single.

  • CCB Help Desk

Over the next few months, we're taking a close look at how we communicate with one another. Good communication is a real art and requires regular attention in any relationship. Our goal is simple: never stop growing in clear, consistent, and timely communication.  One of our main communication tools is Church Community Builder (CCB).

  • Member's Meeting

Our second quarter members meeting is Sunday, June 29, from 6:30-8:00pm. If you're a church member, please make your participation a high priority.  Members at Kingsway are not names on an office roll sheet. Members are men and women who have covenanted with God and one another to live as the body of Christ.

  • Lunch With the Bolivia Missions Team

You may be aware that 16 people from KingsWay will be traveling to Bolivia in mid-August as a short-term missions team to serve our sister churches there.  To help defray the cost of the trip, we’ll be hosting a spaghetti lunch and silent auction following the meeting next Sunday, June 22.  Lunch begins at noon in the foyer.  Tickets can be purchased for $7 per person or $20 per family this Sunday or next.  We will also be receiving items to donate to the silent auction this ...

  • Not Your Average Garden Party

Building community as a church family means spending time together. That's one reason our women's ministry is creating unique opportunities this year for ladies to eat, talk, and laugh together.  On Friday, June 13, all the women are invited to a picnic on the Kingsway grounds at 6:30pm. Activities include a croquet tournament, plus casual lawn games like bocce, corn hole, and ladder ball.

  • End of School Cook-Out

Impact and Frontline are joining forces to host an end-of-school cook-out on Wednesday, June 18. So if you're in middle or high school, or are a parent of someone who is, join us on the back lawn from 7:30-9:30pm. Hotdogs, hamburgers, and drinks will be provided.

  • Girl's Night Out

If you're a woman 13 or older, you're invited to hang out with other ladies from Kingsway at the Sweet Frog in Westchester Commons on Monday, May 12 @ 7:30pm.  Posted by Matthew

  • Provision Garden Planting Day

Perhaps you've noticed the large plot of tilled soil at the back of our church property. It's called the Provision Garden, and it provides nourishing, fresh food to distribute through our Food Pantry. We are very grateful to MaryBeth Haggard for managing the garden and creating opportunities for all of us to get involved - whether you think you have a green thumb or not.  Provision Garden is hosting a backyard picnic and planting day after the service this Sunday (May 4).

  • The Conviction to Lead

Last Saturday, Gene spoke to the men in our church about the essential nature of a conviction to lead. Audio from the morning, including a testimony from one of our members is available here.  Be sure to mark your calendars for our next men's meeting on Saturday, May 31 at 8:00am. Mickey Connolly, the senior pastor of CrossWay Community Church in Charlotte, NC, will be teaching on the importance of friendship.

  • Holy Week Services

For centuries, Christians around the world have set aside the week leading up to Easter Sunday to remember and rejoice in the life, death, and resurrection of our Savior. Here's our plan for celebrating Holy Week as a church family. On Palm Sunday (April 12), Matthew will preach from Luke 28:19-20 on the authority of Jesus On Good Friday (April 18), we'll meet from 7-8pm in the auditorium for our first Good Friday service On Easter Sunday (April 20), Gene will preach from Luke 24:1-12 on the res...

  • Music Ministry Auditions

Sing to him a new song; play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts. (Psalm 33:3) On April 2 and April 12, Silvia Ledon and Drew Routh are hosting informal auditions for anyone desiring to serve in music ministry at KingsWay. Unlike The Voice, you're not competing against other people for a limited number of slots.
