What We Believe

The Gospel: At the Center
KingsWay is about Knowing, Applying, and Proclaiming the gospel. We never want to lose sight of Christ and his work on our behalf, coming as a baby - fully God and fully man - who then died, paying the full penalty for our sins that we may have right relationship with God. We want to never move on from the Gospel. Although we believe more things than the gospel, we want the Gospel to always be at the center. As Christians, we must never move on from the Gospel to something new. Success in the Christian life only comes by living in the shadow of the cross.

Statement of Faith: The Essentials
We believe that God planned for us to understand the truth about who He is, that God has revealed himself clearly, and that God’s truth can be stated in simple propositions that can be understood.  While there are many truths in the bible, we believe there are certain truths that are essential and non-negotiable. These are contained in our statement of faith.

Relational Commitments: How we live it out
As people changed by the Gospel and united by belief in God’s word, we need to be united with other believers in order to rightly walk out lives as Christians. In an ideal world, this would always result in idyllic joy and joy-filled relationships. But since we all deal with remaining sin, we sometimes hit snags in our walk together. As a church, we have committed to honoring God by:

- Resolving conflict
- Protecting Marriages
- Protecting Children
- Biblical Counseling
- Restoring brothers caught in sin

We ask all members of KingsWay to agree to and abide by our relational commitments.  To download a copy of our relational commitments, please click here.

Marriage and Families: What we believe about the family
At KingsWay, we deeply value the family.  We spend much of our time trying to support the families in KingsWay.  While not every family matches the ideal, Scripture sets out a grand vision for the family, and we want to live out that vision as closely as possible. We have also set up Frontline, our teen ministry, and Impact, our 11 to 13-year-old ministry, to not take the place of parent-teen relationship but instead to encourage parents and teens in their relationships with God and each other.

What should I look for in a church?
What should a church look like? Should it be traditional or contemporary? Loud or quiet? Dressy or casual? Many opinions exist on what church should look like. But the Bible is clear on what is essential in a church. Whether you choose KingsWay or somewhere else for your church home, we hope this list of biblically-based questions will help you in your search as God leads you to where you are specifically called to invest.
