  • 2014 Day of Prayer

Last Sunday I preached from Luke 18 about Jesus' invitation to pray in weakness. His main point was that weakness is a gift from God to compel us to pray. We saw it in the widow’s perseverance, the tax collector’s humility, and the children’s faith.  How great is it that our weakness qualifies us for His grace rather than disqualifying us from fruit-bearing? I believe there is much fruit that God wants to pour out this year.

  • Advent Art on Sundays

Perhaps no other season makes us pray like Advent does: longing, struggle, anticipation, thanksgiving, rejoicing, aching, and adoration all bring us to our knees. We are preparing to celebrate Jesus' coming while we yearn still for His second coming. Art is a gift that allows us to express realities that are often too deep, too perplexing, and too wonderful for words alone.
