Parenting Young Adults
Parenting is an adventure, but not for the faint of heart! Successful parenting requires faith, hope, love, perseverance and lots of wisdom. The greatest opportunities are often in times of transition, but these require vision and new skills that we often discover too late.
The parenting transition from teens to young adults is especially important. Children are choosing a college, leaving home, and preparing for marriage and career. It can be a rewarding season if we trade authority for influence and instruction for mentoring. But that exchange doesn’t happen easily or automatically.
With this transition in mind, Liz & I are looking forward to meeting with parents of adult children in the next few weeks. We’ll share biblical principles as well as our own experiences with four adult children. If your child has a driver’s license, we’ve designed this material for you!
