Sunday Review: April 9, 2017
Below is a brief review of our meeting on Sunday, followed by projection from the message, and a few discussion questions for Community Group or personal study this week.
Josh opened our time together with a Call to Worship from Luke 19:28-40.
We sang All Creatures of Our God and King, Because He Lives (Amen), and By Faith.
Bob Shanks spoke about the upcoming Apologetics Sunday School Class, beginning next Sunday, April 16th.
We watched the second Sovereign Grace International Missions video and received a special offering.
Charlene Morgan read 1 John 2:1-6, as the text for Matthew's message, "Abiding in our Advocate". This message was a part of our current series, Assured of Salvation. To listen to the message again, visit our Audio Resources page.
After the message, Jody Dingwell led us in a Prayer of Confession and we sang Before the Throne of God Above and Come Thou Fount.
Matthew closed our time together with a benediction.
1. Why is it that to know Jesus is to obey Jesus? What does the nature of love teach us about this?
2. How do we avoid a life of shame? If the word of God helps us to run from sin, how do we apply this practically in our day to day lives?
3. What is an advocate? How does Jesus Christ serve as our advocate?
4. What is the definition of saving faith? Do you have a personal confidence that Jesus Christ is the propitiation for your sins?
