Sunday Review - August 2
Below is a brief review of our meeting on Sunday followed by a few discussion questions for Community Group or personal study this week.
Gary Stergar opened our time together by reading Psalm 146.
We sang Generous King, Wonderful Merciful Savior, and He is Jesus.
Matthew highlighted the KingsKids ministry and shared testimonies from Luke, Caleb, and Nathan Campbell about their experience as children in the ministry.
Anna Rogness shared about her time in Bolivia at Casa de Esperanza.
Matthew preached a message titled "Who's your master?" from Mark 11:27-33 as the next in our current series, Son of God: The Gospel According to Mark.
After the message we sang He is Jesus and Josh led us in communion.
We sang It is Well and Matthew invited new-comers to visit the Connect Desk before closing with a benediction.
1. Matthew said that submission to God is what paves the way to a relationship with God. What does this principle look like in day to day life?
2. The same mindset that kept the Pharisees from following Jesus keeps us from following Jesus. In your personal experience, in what ways do you struggle with fighting a "personal allegiance to yourself"?
3. What are the two great obstacles in submitting to the authority of God? Describe the ways in which pride and the fear of man inhibits one from fully submitting to God and loving His people.
