Sunday Review: December 2, 2018

On Sunday, November 25, 2018, Matthew preached the message "The Protector is Present" from Genesis 31 as part of our current series, re:creation. Below are a few discussion questions for Community Group or personal study this week. Click here to access a PDF of the projection from the message. To listen to the message again, visit our Audio Resources page.

1. How is the story in this passage dripping with irony? Look back at what you know about the lives of Laban and Jacob; in what ways do you see their previous choices affecting them and influencing their here?

2. Do you ever struggle to believe God sees you? What is the predominant emotion that you feel in the pain of suffering? Depressed? Lonely? Forgotten? Afraid? What truth comforts you in such a time?

3. Why should we trust the Lord to protect us? How do we know he sees us and saves us? Why does he save us?

4. When in your life have you felt the most spiritual oppression? Have you experienced any oppression recently? Through whom does God give the gifts of being seen and saved? How will your relationship with Jesus see you through this difficult time?
