Sunday Review - Feb 2

Here's a quick review of how we encountered God last Sunday plus a few application questions for Community Groups this week.

We sang All Creatures of Our God and King

Matthew read Luke 18:9-14

We sang Not in Me and several members shared prophetic impressions from the Lord

We sang Rescue

Gene welcomed our guests, including our brothers and sisters at Immanuel Fellowship who kindly joined us for our service and lunch afterward

Brad and Tammy Bishop explained why they're traveling to Bolivia for missions work and we prayed for them as a church

Mickey Connolly, mid-Atlantic regional leader for Sovereign Grace Churches, preached a sermon from Philippians 1:3-8 on partnership in the gospel

Gene lead us in sharing communion as an expression of our unity in Christ

We gave a financial offering to support the gospel ministry of our church

We sang Grace Unmeasured and Matthew gave a benediction

COMMUNITY GROUP QUESTIONS:

  1. In the words of D.A. Carson, have you ever experienced "self-sacrificing conformity to a shared vision"? Was your experience inside the church or outside the church?
  2. What situations cause you to doubt whether God is doing a good work in you?
  3. What gives you confidence that God will complete the good work he has begun in you?
  4. How can you partner in the gospel ministry of our church?
