Sunday Review - July 12
Below is a brief review of our meeting on Sunday, followed by some discussion questions to use during Community Group or your own personal study this week.
Josh opened our time together with a call to worship.
We sang All Creatures of Our God and King and Lord I Need You.
Quinton Cools read Habakkuk 3:17-19 and we sang Psalm 62 and Great Are You Lord.
Chris Deloglos introduced the team who will heading out to serve in Bolivia this Friday. He invited Rich Rogness to come and pray for them.
Remie Verougstraete read 2 Corinthians 4. Matthew took a break from our current series, Son of God: The Gospel According to Mark to preach a message about gospel ministry and discuss Gene's upcoming sabbatical.
After the message, Gene gave a short response.
We sang O the Deep Deep Love of Jesus and Josh gave a benediction inviting women to attend the Ladies Worship Night this Wednesday, July 15, at 7:30 pm.
1. Why is gospel ministry hard? Matthew taught that when we serve Jesus, we will have to consistently die to ourselves. What does this mean?
2. What parts of your life have you had to "die" to in your walk with Jesus?
3. Despite the difficulties that come with being a disciple, why is the journey still worth it? What does it mean in verse 7 when it says that we have surpassing power in our jars of clay? How is God's power sufficient?
4. Persevering requires faith. What should we do when we feel weak?
