Sunday Review - July 17, 2016

Below is a brief review of our meeting July 17, followed by Scriptures read during the meeting.

Quin welcomed us and called us to worship, reading Psalm 145:1-13. He then led us in singing Greater Than We Can Imagine and Blessed Be the Name.

Rebecca Giannini prayed a moving prayer of confession, including interceding for our nation’s recent racial tension. Quin read 2 Chronicles 20:6-9 and then we sang Sovereign.

Chris introduced our meeting's focus on Bolivia Missions. Andy Baker was our guest this Sunday. He is a friend of KingsWay and a Regional Coordinator for Word Made Flesh Ministries. Chris dialogued with Andy on stage about updates on the Lord’s work in Suti Sana in El Alto, Bolivia. Suti Sana is an organization that works diligently to give women hope and freedom from a life of degradation in the prostitution and sex industry.

Josh gave a brief exhortation from Mark 16:15-18, reminding each of us that God calls us to be co-laborers with Him. Josh challenged us to think about, “Has God called you to go?” He then led us in a congregational prayer.

Chris introduced the medical and construction mission teams that will be heading to Bolivia this week. Andy Baker led us in praying for the teams.

We continued worship by giving our offerings and singing Great Are You Lord.

We concluded our meeting with Matthew sharing a scripture which was meaningful during his sabbatical, Isaiah 28:16. The end of the verse reads, “Whoever believes will not be in haste.” Matthew dismissed us with the benediction.

Scripture mentioned during the message:

Romans 10:13-17

For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?” So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

Revelation 7:9-12

After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying, “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen.”
