Sunday Review : July 23, 2017
Below is a brief review of our meeting on Sunday, followed by discussion questions for Community Group or personal study this week.
Matthew opened our time with announcements and Damian Crichigno prayed a Prayer of Praise.
We sang All Hail the Power (His name is Jesus) and Everlasting God.
Kevin Khoffie read Psalm 130 - 131 and we sang Out of the Depths and How Great is Your Faithfulness.
Mike Whitener read 1 John 5:13-21 and Matthew prayed a Prayer of Intercession. He then preached the final message in our current series, Assured of Salvation. The message, "Exchanging Presumption for Certainty - Part 2", can be heard again by visiting our Audio Resources page.
Josh led us in communion and we sang O Great God.
Matthew closed our time together with a benediction.
1. Matthew taught that being a Christian does not mean we are perfect, rather, it means that we fight to follow Jesus in every area of life. How would you define this distinction in your own words?
2. What are some examples of a biblical way to interact with friends who are actively sinning? How does prayer factor into this?
3. Have there been situations in your life recently where you have struggled to interact with another who is living in active sin? How has God helped you to connect with them and point them to Jesus?
4. Describe the eternal protection that is guaranteed to us as believers.
