Sunday Review: July 30, 2017
Below is a brief review of our meeting on Sunday, followed by a few Discussion Questions for Community Group or personal study this week.
Josh opened our time up together with announcements and Kevin Khoffie read Hebrews 10:19-25 as a Call to Worship.
We sang Come Praise and Glorify and By Faith.
Matthew led us in reading the Apostles Creed and We Sang Because He Lives (Amen).
Suzanne Verougstraete read the book of 2 John - the text for Matthew's message, "Walking in Truth and Love". To listen to the message again, visit our Audio Resources page.
After the message we sang O Church Arise. Peter Burdette gave a testimony about the mission trip to Bolivia. After which, Josh led us in a time of prayer for all members of the team who were about to head out.
After the time of prayer, Josh closed our time together with a benediction.
1. Matthew taught that you cannot separate what you believe about God from how you live. What does this mean?
2. How does truth bring and bind us together as a church? How is genuine love not grounded in the ebb and flow of emotion?
3. Matthew taught that God will never tell you to do something in the name of love toward another person if it violates one of His commandments. Why is this the case? What is your reaction to this truth?
4. What are the implications of the gospel? How can you fight for that as a believing single person, spouse, or parent?
