Sunday Review: June 5, 2018
On Sunday, June 3, 2018, Matthew preached the message, "Generous Faith in the God Who Provides" from Genesis 13 as part of our current series, re:creation. Below are a few discussion questions for Community Group or personal study this week. To listen to the message again, visit our Audio Resources page. For a PDF of projection from the message, please click here.
1. What is the "engine" that drove Abram's unselfishness when making choices with Lot about the land in this passage? How is an abiding trust in the LORD the only power that frees us from the angst of trying to provide for all of our own needs?
2. How have you experienced radical, selfless generosity from others in your life? From the LORD?
3. What is the connection between Abram and Jesus in this passage? How do we see Christlikeness in his actions? Ultimately, what is the cost of following God wholeheartedly when it comes to your material possessions and other things that you hold dear?
4. How does faith free us to practice the generosity of God? Think of the speicific roles that God has called you to. How can you better practice such generosity in your home? In your workplace? At church?
