Sunday Review - March 16

Here's a quick review of our meeting last Sunday, including questions for Community Group this week.

Matthew read Psalm 100 to call us to worship

We sang Come Praise and Glorify and Generous King

In response to two prophetic words, we prayed in small groups for people who were unemployed or underemployed

We sang How Great is Your Faithfulness

Walter gave a testimony as part of our 25th anniversary "Month to Remember"

We welcomed our guests and Remie read 1 Peter 2:11-17

After the pastoral prayer, Gene preached a sermon entitled, "Testify in Society," from 1 Peter 2:11-17

We took several minutes to individually confess our sin to the Lord

Josh led us in receiving communion

We sang You Are My King and gave an offering to support the ministry of the gospel in our church

Gene gave a benediction and invitation for prayer

Discussion Questions for Community Group
  1. Do you generally think of authority as a necessary evil or a divine gift?
  2. Why do so many people have trouble submitting to authority?
  3. How does submitting to man glorify God?
  4. Is there a difference between obedience and submission?
