Sunday Review - May 17


In case you missed our gathering last Sunday, here's a quick overview plus a few discussion questions for Community Groups this week. 

Chris Deloglos gave a call to worship

Haider led us in singing God of Our Salvation, The Power of the Cross, and Great Are You Lord

Gene explained the priority of worshiping God by through tithes and offerings

We sang Hope of the World

Matthew prayed for several things:

  • A recently adopted Sovereign Grace church in Belleville, Ill
  • Quin, Serena, and David serving at at leadership development conference for teens
  • Floyd & Leigh Amason
  • Financial provision for Sovereign Grace and Kingsway
  • Persecuted Christians in Syria & Iraq

Matthew preached a sermon from Mark 9:1-13 called, "The Glory of His Kingdom"

We sang Behold Our God and Gene led us in sharing communion

Gene reminded us about two upcoming events, the Summer Study for ladies and a Parenting Workshop for parents with adult children, before giving a benediction


Community Group Questions

  • Where are you tempted to assume responsibility for work only Jesus can do? 
  • Jesus speaks to us through the entire Bible. Where do you struggle to believe His voice instead of the voice of other people and circumstances?
  • Do you expect to suffer more or less if you choose to follow Jesus? Why or why not?
