Sunday Review | October 30, 2016
Below is a brief review of our meeting on Sunday, followed by a few discussion questions for Community Group or personal study this week.
Matthew opened our time together with a welcome and announcements.
We sang Jesus Shall Reign and God Moves.
Matthew read Colossians 1:24-27 and we sang Come Behold the Wondrous Mystery before giving our tithes and offerings.
Charlene Morgan read Daniel 4 and Josh preached the message "The Most High Rules the Kingdom of Men". This was the next in our current series Dominion: The Book of Daniel. To listen to the message again, visit our Audio Resources page.
After the message we sang I Will Glory in My Redeemer and shared communion. We sang All Glory Be to Christ and Josh closed our time together with a benediction.
1. Are all authorities instituted by God? How do you know? Why does this comfort us when we encounter leaders who we disagree with or who are blatantly opposed to God's kingdom?
2. Have you ever observed Christians place a political figure or ideology in a place of ultimate sovereignty and salvation? Have you ever been tempted to think like this yourself?
3. Speaking of the Lord, Josh said that "His sovereignty cares for us in the deepest of ways." What does this mean? What implications does this have in your life?
4. What are some things in your life that compete for the place of God's glory? What have you found gets placed on a pedestal above worshiping the Lord?
