Sunday Review: October 7, 2018
On Sunday, October 7, 2018, guest pastor Rick Zaman preached the message "God's Determined & Gracious Will" from Genesis 25 as a part of our current series, re:creation. Below are a few discussion questions for Community Group or personal study this week. To listen to the message again, visit our Audio Resources page. For a PDF of the projection from the message, click here.
1. Who's will and plans are your ambitions and desires coming from? Who's plans is your life aligned with? Your own? God's? How do you know? How does one determine God's will?
2. How does God accomplish His will through obedient servants? By contrast, how have you seen Him accomplish His will through struggles, difficulties, and sin? Why would God allow His will to be achieved through difficulties and sin? What do we learn about Him when this happens?
3. Looking at Romans 9 again, on what basis did God elect Jacob over Esau? Was this a fair choice?
4. As Pastor Zaman asked, where is one area of your life that is more characterized by disobedience, apathy, wrong goals, or wrong priorities? How should you now change, holding these truths in mind about the unstoppable plan of God? How might that truth reorient you, alter your plans, your job, your ambitions, your speech, you parenting? How might you more faithfully align your life in trusting obedience to His revealed call because He is a God of grace working through you?
