Sunday Review - September 22
Here’s a brief review of our meeting yesterday, plus a few questions for Community Group discussions this week.
Josh Kruger led us in a call to worship and prayed over our meeting.
We sang Doxology and Kevin Khoffie and Haider Sharifi read Psalm 24.
We sang Behold our God and Jesus Son of God followed by a repeat of the Doxology as we gave our offerings.
Matthew led the pastoral prayer and specifically prayed over the Ebola outbreak in Western Africa and for the protection of the many missionary doctors and nurses who face the disease on a day to day basis. He then spent time praying for the members of Kingsway who are a part of the medical field.
Matthew kicked off our new sermon series, Son of God: The Gospel According to Mark with a sermon from Mark 1:1 titled Good News of a Savior King.
Following the sermon, we sang Glorious Day.
Gene gave the benediction and reminded everyone about the Seasoned Saints Luncheon that afternoon as well as the Ladies Breakfast on October 4th at 8:30 am. Sign up for the Ladies Breakfast is available online or in the church foyer next Sunday.
Community Group Discussion Questions:
- According to Mark 1:1, who is Jesus?
- Matthew said that Jesus didn't just stop breaking into human history two thousand years ago--rather he breaks into our personal history, our lives every day. In what ways have you experienced Jesus breaking into your history?
- Mark's goal in writing this gospel was to share about who Jesus is and how we are to follow Him. Based upon what you have learned from this message, how can you grow in discipleship this week?
- What is the role of community as we strive to follow the Son of God?
