Sunday Review: 4/9/2023

On Sunday, April 9, 2023, Matthew Williams preached the message “The Resurrection Says Yes” from Acts 13:13-43. To listen to this message again, click here. Please see below for discussion questions for this past Sunday’s message.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:

  1. Where in your life are you most tempted to think salvation must come from your hand instead of from the Lord? What part of Israel’s history most convicts or encourages you?

  2. Jesus’ enemies didn’t derail his saving plan. They accomplished it. How does the sovereign fulfillment of God’s promises on the cross impact the way you think about injustice or suffering in your own life?

  3. How does the resurrection of David’s Greater Son fulfill the salvation God promised Israel? Do you think of your future as intimately connected with Jesus’ future?

  4. In what way does the resurrection proclaim forgiveness of sins? Do you tend to languish in self-condemnation or say, “I just can’t forgive myself!”?

  5. How does the resurrection grant freedom from the power of sin? What does the Spirit do that the law can never do? Are you counseling your friends and/or children accordingly?

  6. The resurrection says “Yes” to all the promises of God. Which one do you most need to cling to this week?
