Sunday Review: 5/22/2022

On Sunday, May 22, 2022, Caleb Collins preached the message “Walking by The Spirit” from Galatians 5:16-18. To listen to this message again, click here. Please see below for discussion questions for this Sunday’s message.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:

  1. Caleb said in his sermon that “Walking in the Spirit is living the whole of one’s life in active dependence upon, and under the control of, the Holy Spirit”. How are you “depending upon” and “under the control of” the Holy Spirit in your daily life? What does “walking by the Spirit” practically look like for you?

  2. What are the “desires of the flesh” (mentioned in Gal 5:16-17) and how does “walking by the Spirit” help us to not gratify those desires? Follow-up: Do you have hope that you can overcome the sin in your life? Why or why not?

  3. Caleb mentioned that the Christian life cannot be lived “on the fence”. What does that mean, and how can we make sure that we do not “live on the fence” in our day-to-day lives? Are there areas in your life where you think you are “living on the fence”? What should our response be when we realize areas of “living on the fence” in our lives?

  4. John 16:13-14 states that the Holy Spirit came to glorify Jesus Christ. How is Jesus made more glorious in your life by the work of the Holy Spirit? Over the past year, how has your view of, treasure of, and desire for Jesus increased?
